Launch Foundation
Billing / Refund / Cancellation Policy
Alphrex uses Stripe for checkout, billing-portal management, and subscription-status synchronization. This page describes the current launch-time billing contract.
Operational draft for launch readiness. Refund and consumer-law language should still receive human legal review before broader launch.
Billing flow
- Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. Alphrex stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so workspace plan state can stay synchronized.
- Before starting checkout, Alphrex requires a verified email address and a valid account email so the subscription can be attached to the correct workspace.
- Pricing and current plan boundaries are described on the pricing and upgrade pages. If those pages change, this policy should be kept aligned.
Cancellation and plan state
- Cancellation, card updates, invoices, and renewal settings are intended to be self-serve through Stripe's billing portal.
- When Stripe marks a subscription canceled, expired, or otherwise inactive, Alphrex drops the workspace back to Free and removes Pro-only access paths.
- Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not guarantee automatic deletion of the account or historical research artifacts.
Refunds and billing exceptions
- Alphrex does not promise automatic refunds for every cancellation or change-of-mind case.
- If you believe you were billed in error, were charged after a failed cancellation flow, or encountered a clear provisioning issue, contact support and the case can be reviewed.
- Any refund decision is handled conservatively on a case-by-case basis until a more formal policy is legally reviewed and intentionally adopted.
Support path
- Use the support page for billing exceptions, account-access issues, and refund review requests.
- For ordinary cancellation, invoices, or payment-method changes, use the Stripe billing portal from the upgrade or settings surfaces first.
- Password recovery and email-verification issues are handled separately from subscription cancellation; use the dedicated account-recovery path if you are locked out.
